First Day...For Sure!

The first day of school...As families scramble for cameras, checkbooks and all the school supplies purchased over the past month. Children can't sleep (until they get to class) and teachers anticipate retirement with each student enrolled.

My own first day of school (First Grade at that point; Kindergarten was optional and limited) featured black and white film, a Lancelot Link Lunchbox and a spanking at school. Yes, it's the truth! 16 years of education later concluded with videotape, two hot dogs for a buck at the Wilco and only a few demerits...

Here's to this year's batch of scholars. Hang in there! 4 months from today is Christmas. Only 179 School Days left...and in the wise words of King Solomon as found in Ecclesiastes: The end of a matter is better than its beginning...
